- Audiovisual show: Piazza Grande is transformed into an open-air stage where the magical fairy tale ‘Nel cuore del tempo’ (In the Heart of Time) is brought to life with projections that animate the façades of Piazza Grande and Piazza Magnolia. The story is projected onto Locarno Town Hall every hour from 5.30 p.m.
- Ice rink: It wouldn’t be Christmas without an ice rink. Admission is free for everyone, and skates and other accessories can be rented on site for CHF 5 if required.
- Ice mini golf: In the Giardini Pioda, an enchanting 18-hole course on ice awaits you, offering an entertaining challenge amidst the winter atmosphere of Winterland.
- Carousels: From the majestic, completely handmade two-storey carousel to the Christmas tree-shaped carousel and the small train for the little ones, fun is guaranteed for children and families alike.
- Children’s programme: A packed calendar of creative workshops, theatre performances and free magic shows for the little ones.
- Christmas market: It’s impossible not to be tempted by what the Christmas market has to offer. Stroll among arts and crafts, Christmas decorations, culinary specialities and much more. The ideal place to find gift ideas for your loved ones or treat yourself to something special.
- Concerts: At Winterland, you can attend free concerts featuring internationally renowned artists and talented local bands. The shows take place in a transparent hall and guarantee a unique experience whatever the weather.
- Gastronomy: Winterland offers a rich gastronomic selection with various culinary stands offering everything from burgers and Thai cuisine to winter specialities such as crêpes and raclette. There are also several bars where you can enjoy a mulled wine or an aperitif in good company. In addition, visitors can visit three pop-up restaurants, including an atmospheric igloo where you can indulge in a fondue chinoise, an authentic chalet offering traditional cheese fondue, and two carriages from an old train that have been converted into a French bistro serving entrecôte Café de Paris as its speciality.
